How To Care For Refinished Flooring

PROFESSIONALFLOOR CARE TIPS

Early Precautions

After a hardwood floor buff and recoat, wait 24 hours for light foot traffic (in socks) and 48 hours for normal traffic. Avoid rugs, heavy furniture, and wet cleaning for at least 1–2 weeks to allow the finish to cure properly. Clean with dry methods like microfiber mops or vacuums, and maintain 40–60% humidity. 

Beware of Spills

Water and moisture pose the greatest threats to hardwood. Promptly clean up any spills to avoid damage, warping, or staining. Be vigilant about leaks or spots where water could collect and resolve these issues quickly.

Clean Regularly

Maintain the cleanliness of your floors by sweeping them regularly to remove dust and grit. Once a month, apply a hardwood floor cleaner to preserve its shine and overall cleanliness, but steer clear of wet mopping or harsh chemicals that could harm the finish.
